Ready. Set. Go AtoZChallenge 2017 - Theme Reveal
By Ritika Tiwari Monday, March 20, 2017 Art, AtoZChallenge
Today we begin another attempt by yours truly to complete a challenge. Every time I tried to take up a challenge on this blog, I have failed miserably - From 52Booksin52Weeks to 30DaysofBlogging.
But I am still taking up the AtoZChallenge this year. Why? Because as Beyonce once said, “I’mma keep running coz winners don’t quit on themselves.”
What is the AtoZChallenge?
In AtoZ challenge, I will blog all through April (26 times to be exact, if you remove the Sundays). Every blog post that I do will be ordered from A to Z. So the first post will start with A, second with B, and so on.
Why a theme to the challenge?
Just writing a blog post inspired by alphabets, is boring to be honest. It also means that I will have writer’s block almost every day. But with a theme, I am more focused and inspired to write.
So, my theme for the AtoZChallenge.. Post Impressionist Art
Why Post Impressionist Art?
Because over the time, I have fallen in love with this art form from the late 1800’s. So much so that I wish I had learned more about art history in school. I even looked at degrees in art history that I could do. But none of them in India provide a specialization in post impressionist art.
So, this challenge is an excuse for me to learn more about some of the most amazing paintings in the world, and share it with you.
Why European Art and not Indian? Are you an anti-nationalist/Congressi?
None of the above.
I am just a lover of art, and as it turns out, paintings by post impressionist artists inspires me to write. And may be it will motivate me to write regularly every day.
The challenge starts from 1st April, and from then on, I will be blogging everyday (except Sundays)
To stay updated, you can follow me on Facebook and Twitter, or just check the website at 12am everyday :)
Let’s hope I can make it through!

ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it! And yes, I am seriously hoping I can at least finish this one :/
DeleteRitika,
ReplyDeleteI know very little about the art world but I admire those with gifted abilities to create on the canvas or sketch pad. I have a creative nature that needs fulfilling and I always wanted to be an artist but never allowed myself time to grow my abilities. I will bookmark your site to learn more about art and hopefully inspire me in my creative endeavors. I invite you to visit Curious as a Cathy to read my theme reveal post!
Hi Cathy
DeleteI am so happy that my posts are able to inspire you. I honestly thought this would be a very boring topic for many, but I went ahead with it because I wanted to do this whole challenge for myself :)
This is an interesting theme. To know/learn more about this is on my list too. I look forward to reading your posts :) Good Luck!

DeleteWelcome to the challenge! I'm sure you'll do great. It's a fantastic expereince. It's the third time for me and I've always enjoyed it from day one. You'll see ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove your theme. I'm a lover of arts too, so maybe that's why I'd never wonder why you chose a non-Indian art. There is beauty everywhere, every culture has offered something beautiful and we'd only misse out if we only focuse on our own culture, don't you think so? I love all kind of arts and history and legends and story from all over the world. We are so lucky there are such variety.
Have a great time!

Hi Sarah
DeleteThank so much!
Yes, I guess you are right. Every culture has different art forms and we would be deriving ourselves if we ignore it all.
I hope this way I can learn more about the European art, even if its a little bit :)

Definitely a good theme! I've always had an interest in art but I'm far from an expert, so I look forward to following.
ReplyDeleteHi Nick

A fascinating theme! In an alternate life, I feel like I could have happily been an art historian. That or a park ranger. ;) Looking forward to stopping by in April.

Glad you like it :)
DeleteWow. This is such a refined, uber-specialised theme, that I'm sitting with my jaw open staring at the screen. The only brush I've had with art, is the ones I've read about in Jeffrey Archer's novels. And now I'm going to get 26 more posts to enjoy! All the best Ritika, and I'm rooting for you to complete this challenge :)
ReplyDeleteAww.. thank you for the nice comment Mithila. Honestly, its an unchattered territory for me too. I am just trying to learn something new on the way and share that knowledge with everyone
