Getting Over Trashy Romantic Novels | 52 Books in 52 Weeks | Week 4-6

By Tuesday, November 17, 2015 ,

I have record of not doing challenges on this blog but I am so happy I am miles ahead this one even when I didn't get time to update it here. Between my trip to Goa and Diwali, there has been just too much pending work to cover up and by the end of the day I am so tired that the last thing that I want to do is write, so I open up a book and read instead.

Yes, I am still a little hung on to the trashy romantic novels but it all ends TODAY ! I have decided to let go of my fascination of sappy romantic stories that all end the same way and embrace my inner geek.

I am going to pick up Lord of the Rings trilogy and Hobbit followed by the Game of Thrones books. I am a big GoT fan but I haven't seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies. All my knowledge about LoR comes from The Big Bang Theory. Seriously.

That is why I decided to read Lord of the Rings before Game of Thrones and I hope I won't be disappointed.

Here are the books I read the past few weeks. I don't really want to talk about them individually because, honestly they are all the same. I am linking each of them to their GoodReads pages so that you can know more about them if you are interested

Week 4 - The Deal by Elle Kennedy

Week 5 - Easy Love by Kristen Proby

Week 6 - Tangled by Emma Chase

So this is what happens in these romantic novels and almost all the other ones I read

Girl gets wooed

Guy gets all sappy

Mandatory coitus scene

Books ends and I am supposed to react like this..

But this is how I actually feel for reading a stupid romantic novel

  1. I have one rule with fantasy novels though! I either read them or watch the movies. As a lot of details in the book, aren't well captured in the movies. Series are still okay though! I'm a big GOT fan and the series didn't disappoint me that much at all

    1. I have actually never been a Fantasy fan until I saw Game of Thrones. And I think its time to read the rest too.

Although, I don''t think I can ever read Harry potter :D
