52 Books in 52 Weeks

By Sunday, October 04, 2015

Do you remember the last book you read? Well, I don't. I seriously don't.

I have been so much busy throughout this year that I haven't had a chance to read a single book. And I was the kind of girl who read one new book every day. We were only allowed to issue one book every week from the school library so I would make my friends get all the books I wanted to read. Well, that was school and I didn’t have to worry about making money back then.

But not reading books has been really bothering me lately. I do remember buying books, but I just can’t seem to read them. The last time I was in Goa, I spent a hot summer afternoon scanning through the books in a second hand book store just to find that perfect catch.

And yet, I don’t have time to read them. It’s all because of my stupid habit of wanting to read the entire book from cover to cover in one go. I just don't like getting interrupted when I am reading. And lately, with my hectic schedule it just hasn’t been possible.

I love reading, my love for reading actually led me to write and running away from it just seems wrong. I have always believed that reading is what makes us who we are and gives us that depth.

I have decided that for the next one year I am going to read one book every week. 52 Books in 52 Weeks.

I don't know how difficult or easy it will be but I know it will be a great experience all along.

I will be reviewing each book I read every week right here on the blog just to keep you guys updated with progress. I hope I can make through it and not skip the whole challenge by giving myself a lame excuse.

But that's not all, I am looking for people who would do this stupidly crazy challenge with me (Partly because, I need people to motivate me). So, if you are in it, comment right here and let me know!

Also, I am looking for book recommendations - satire, horror, thriller, biographies, chick-lit, whatever it is I am in! :)

  1. That's a worthy challenge and one that is highly achievable. I started on that road some months ago myself, and I've managed to keep at it...a new book every week.
    Greetings and best wishes!

  2. Search for Jeffrey Deaver books - you remember the "Bone Collector" movie starring Denzel Washington and Anjelina Jolie? Well, there are a whole series of investigative thrillers featuring the duo and they are awesome.

Personally, yes, I too am starting to read once more after a long hiatus. And it feels good to get back into the habit.
