Its IndianScrewUp.com now !!

By Monday, September 01, 2014

Finally, the moment I had been anticipating since months. I moved the blog to my own custom domain - IndianScrewUp.com ( cue the drum roll..)

If you have visited the blog before you might have noticed the name change. I removed the hyphen because I had to. I got mails from so many readers saying they couldn't find the blog on google because of the hyphen. Your first blog is like your first email id - its embarassing but you find a way to change it ( My email id is still embarassing btw, I am just too lazy to change that )
You don't have to worry about the new domain though, you will automatically be redirected to the new page when you click on an old link. Just take it as a fancy title I wanted to own.

When I moved the blog to this domain, I also had the option to either move to Wordpress or stay on Blogger. Ofcourse all the intelligent people say Wordpress is better but I say it takes a lot of work and effort. So I decided to be the lazy one I am and stay on Blogger.

Blogger is that dyslexic child who refuses to do things in one go. But I like it because it feels like home to me. Plus, I have coded more HTML on Blogger than I did in my whole 4 years of engineering. See, atleast something good came out of it.

But jokes aside, I am so happy I did this. When I started this blog I didn't even think anyone would read it. I thought I was a terrible writer but I got so much support from so many people that I realized how wrong I was and how stupid I would be to stop. And most importantly, I need to mention the one person who made it possible by his support and by buying me this domain. I don't think I'll be paying you back in cash but will love work ? :)

PS : I have been checking the whole day for any glitches or broken links on the website. It all looks good right now but if you encounter any kind of error, please let me know :)

  1. Well long time since I last came on this blog. Three things - first, custom domain, cool! Second, software engineer now, congrats - never saw you "Placed" blog come up, and third, seriously tell me, do you write blogs on past dates? Every time I come on your blog, I see new posts of years ago o.O

  4. Congratulations Ritika. I can do well relate to what you have written as I too moved to a self hosted site from blogger. And all day I too was trying to figure out how to move comments and followers from blogger to my new site. So totally understand the hardwork.
