Kashmir To Kanyakumari

By Tuesday, August 05, 2014

It has finally started raining here and its cloudy all through the day. I have already established how bored I get staying at home and the rains are just making it worse. I don't know why people enjoy monsoon so much, I find it down right depressing. There is no sun and the sky is all grey. I mean whats more depressing than that ?

I am moving to South India in a few months and by South I mean the southern end of the country. I'll be living one hour away from Kanyakumari. Surprisingly everyone else is more freaked out than I am. I mean, I literally went from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 3 months, if that does not make up for a good story then I don't know what does.

May be I won't get pohe or chole bhature there, but I am good as long as they have a McDonalds (Mental note - Google about McDonalds in the city). But chole bhature would definitely help. Wait, I hope I can get tea there, I need it to survive and I can't substitute it for a filter coffee. HELL TO THE NO.

I have so much stuff to do before I leave but the only thing I have done till now is book my tickets. I should be doing other important stuff but all I do is play Candy Crush. In my defense, I am about to reach level 200 and it needs my full attention.

It takes me a lot of time to realize and accept the change around me, may be thats why I am not even a bit fazed by everything. May be when I actually reach there, it will start sinking in. I don't know how good or bad the experiences will be, I am going to go with an open mind and try to accept all the changes. Because that's all I can do right now.

I hope this will help :-).. And yes best of luck for reaching 200 level

  2. If you don't like rain, you will be disappointed. If you are in Kerala, its going to be rain, rain and more rain. Today's newspaper has a tourist swimming in the road.

As for tea, you will find that most South Indians prefer tea to coffee.

    2. Mc Donalds is there in Palakkad which is an hour away from Coimbatore, a decent enough place for your South indian shopping needs. It is a different matter that palakkad is a boring place, even by Kerala standards. : /
Monsoons are starting to show their might so you may wanna be a bit more specific on what you wanna do in Kerala, too, keeping the rains in mind.

  8. Hey Ritika, welcome to Kerala. Let me assure you that you get Chole bhature here. I don't know the Kanyakumari area well & so I cant refer to restaurants there. But here in Kochi, almost every decent restaurant serves them.
Next tea. Trust me Ritika. That is one omnipresent thing here. With all the tea plantations around, we survive on them ;).
Next, McD... Hmm. there are 2 here in Kochi. Dunno about other places.
And if you plan on site seeing anytime. Wagamon & Wayanad are must visit places. :)
