Life Isn't Fair

By Wednesday, January 29, 2014 ,

And nobody said it would be.

We often put ourselves in difficult position by building up a ‘mental snowball’ in our heads (You know when you over-think everything to the point that you can’t sleep at nights? ) And then there are times when we are too hard on ourselves for not being more successful, for not earning more or for just not getting better grades.  I remember finding my roommate in tears when our result was declared last semester. She was crying because she got a 7.8 GPA instead of the expected 8+ GPA (PS – I had 6.5 GPA :/ )
I didn’t know whether to calm her or throw her down the window.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't dissappointed with my marks. I was devastated. But somehow I picked up the pieces and put my entire energy in a positive direction. In two months I had a job offer in my hand even with the low GPA and I couldn't be more proud.

But I think in life, you will always and always want something more. You can go to the richest man in the world and I am sure there would be something that he would want which he didn't already have (May be a property on the moon, wait.. if he’s the richest guy in the world, I am sure he already has a huge land on the moon)
Things will come and go in life but what you really need is your family, your loved ones and inner peace. Be content and be proud of yourself.

You will achieve great heights but don’t push yourself so hard that you fall off the cliff

  2. Well said. We sometimes do tend to become too hard upon ourselves. Ideal to pick up the pieces and start doing better things!

  4. Woah can't imagine someone crying over a 7.8 GPA O_O

We humans are greedy, we never seem to have enough. I totally agree with not pushing yourself too hard though, just be happy :)

  5. Okay! I missed a perfect hundred in Mathematics by 2 marks. I missed 80% or say 8 pointer by 7 marks on my final college report card. That said, I once failed in Engineering Mathematics by 1 mark in my college's first year!

Trust me I learnt much more with that one failure than anything else. I didn't cry but I could not stand seeing enormous number of status updates saying all clear all clear and innumerable messages in my inbox "bhai teri back kaise aa gai".

I picked myself up although it was hard. I scored double the marks I had, in my reappear! I didn't start studying too much after my failure, I just realized that being worried is the bigger worry than the worry itself!

If you organize well and tell yourself this is not the ultimate thing, you feel lighter and perform better! Most importantly you feel khush about the life apart from your WORK! When you start working, no report cards matter!

  7. I think, aspiring for something better is coded into our genes. Otherwise, our meaningless lives will cease to have any meaning!
