Favourite TV Couples Of All Times
Keeping up with the Valentine theme, I wanted to share my favourite TV couples. The ones that taught us love can come in all forms - a sarcasm god like Chandler, or a manipulative smooth talker like Chuck Bass.
And the ones that taught us just because you got your heart broken, doesn't mean its the end of the world. And also, 'We were on a break' is a valid comeback statement is case of any fight.
MONICA / CHANDLER ( COURTNEY COX/ MATHEW PERRY), FRIENDS
If I had to pick between them and Ross/Rachel, it will always be them. Ross and Rachel had their 'will they/won't they' thing going on untill the very last but Monica and Chandler were inseparable. Yes, it might have taken them some while to realise they were meant to be but once they were together nothing could tear them apart. May be because they fit together so perfectly or may be because they had always been friends. Who wouldn't want a husband like Chandler who says 'Yes, Darling' over everything? Minus the commitment phobia and sarcasm, ofcourse !
CARRIE / MR BIG (SARAH JESSICA PARKER/ CHRIS NORTH) , SEX AND THE CITY
Carrie might have dated several hundreds of men including a dreadful Russian, but no one even came close to Mr Big. Why ? Because he let Carrie be herself, he didn't pressure her to move in or to move to Paris, he understood her and I guess thats what made them so perfect for each other. I still remember the first episode, Carrie asked him if he had ever been in love, he smiled at her and said 'Absof-ing-lutely !'
BLAIR/ CHUCK (LEIGHTON MEESTER / ED WESTWICK), GOSSIP GIRL
Nobody does scheming better than this couple. The one reason why they have always been my favourite couple no matter who they dated, was because they were absolutely perfect for each other. And most importantly, they didn't judge each other over anything. Together, I think they brought out the best in each other.
LILY / MARSHAL ( ALYSON HANNIGAN/ JASON SEGAL), HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER
This has been my eternally favourite couple on TV. The way Marshall and Lily compliment each other so, I am just left 'aww-ing' every time. If I ever ( read ever) get married, I would want someone exactly like Marshall. Because, as Lily said, ' That's love bitch!'

I don't like Mr. Big. And I dont like Lily!! As a couple they are fine.. but I dont like them much as individuals.
ReplyDeleteI loveee the chemistry between Chuck and Blair.. super hot!!! And well.. Monica and Chandler are the cutest..or maybe I'm just a little partial towards FRIENDS..dont think any series can come closer.
I like the more practical couples in According to Jim and Rules of engagement..funny and sensitive. They just fit!
Nisha, I love that you chose Rules of Engagement .. such an underrated comedy.. Another one you should give a chance to : The married couple in Happy Endings.. hilariously cute :)

I used to love Rules of Engagement when it was airing on Star World, they stopped telecasting it now :(
Was never really in the romance series. . Except for friends of course!! Loved the episode in which Chandler finds out the secret closet and at Monica's. His dialogue goes something like " I love you not because you are organised, I love you in spite of that!" Seriously awesome that scene was!
