My Favourite Songs : Unplugged
There is never a moment when music can't make me feel better. I might be a bad (read terrible) singer but that doesn't stop me from humming songs all through the day.
My music taste spans from Mohd. Rafi to Pitbull. Sounds crazy ? I know.
I sometimes think what would it be like if there was a Rafi song featuring Pitbull. May be 'O Haseena Zulfo waali' with Pitbull singing ' Forget about your boyfriend and meet me at the hotel room'
Sigh, if only Rafi was still alive, I know this song would be a platinum hit.
Though I don't exactly love Bollywood Music (Basically Halkat/Second Hand Jawani, any Munni going Badnaam, Namak Ishq ka, Teri Keh ke lunga etc etc ). But there are a few masterpieces that sink into your soul so deep, you are left in disbelief.
These are a few of my favourite songs, all unplugged versions, way better than the original ones. I might be a bit too biased towards Rahman, but come on the guy won an Oscar !
Aaj Jaane Ki Zidd Na Karo
I have always loved this song but Rahman took it to a whole another level. His voice is so husky, you are just left humming the song all through the day.
My favourite lines - Haaye Marr Jayenge Hum Toh Loot Jayenge, Aisi Baatein Kiya na Karo
Pehla Nasha
This is has been an evergreen hindi love song and my all time favourite. But when I heard this version from Suraj Jagan, I was blown over. I never thought this song could get any better but Jagan definitely proved me wrong.
For those who don't recognize his voice, he sang the infamous song 'Give me Some Sunshine'
Guncha
This song by Mohit Chauhan is probably the reason I started liking him so much. I have had heard him since his Silk Route days but this song class apart. It takes me in a whole different world everytime I hear it.
My favourite lines : Hosh bekhabar se huye unke bager, woh jo humse keh na sake dil ne keh diya
Rehna Tu
It's Rahman again, though he sang the original song too from Delhi 6 but this unplugged version totally stole my heart. He changed the entire song and still kept the essence of it somehow.
Tu Jaane Na
Though this song was pretty popular, I did not like the original version by Atif. But this version by Kailash Kher totally took my breath away for a second. I listen to it when I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, always soothes me down
My favourite lines: Tum paas hoke bhi, ehsaas hoke bhi, apne nahi. Aise hai humko gile tumse na jaane kyun
Do you have any more songs to add to this list ? Also, really sorry to all those who are not good at Hindi, I am not good at translating Hindi ( Hihihi :D )
Hope you have a great day
